FS536, EH Mix it Up - Thank You

This week's Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper is Donna3d! I chose this card as my inspiration:

I am also linking up to Ellen Hutson's Mix it Up Challenge with Reverse Confetti.

I focused on Donna's:
-floral theme
-layout
-'splattered' look
-grey card base

I changed:
-technique (Donna stamped on wet paper, I 'ink smooshed')
-added die cut
-more colours

When working with more than one stamp set, choose stamps with a similar line weight to create a cohesive design. The handwritten sentiment works well with the scribbly flower.

I started with a 4.25x4.25 inch square panel and stamped the sentiment and flowers. Then I started my ink-smooshing.

When it was all dry, I cut out a folk heart and removed it and then cut a 4x4 square from the remainder. This allows the heart to extend of the edge of the square panel a little bit.

I laid the heart back into the panel and popped it up with foam tape.

I used:

-Reverse Confetti Posted Note Sentiments

  2. Wonderful colourful and crisp and clean card - love the heart, and thanks for the tip to cut the background after removing the heart. The video is great too, love how you use acetate for your smooshing.
