TO81 - It's Your Day


This card is for this week's Time Out Challenge, where we are being inspired by a photo:



Last week, Julie Ebersole and (*new stamp company alert!*) Flora and Fauna had an Instagram giveaway and (can you believe it?!) I WON! I won the Octagon Greenhouse (see below for link) stamp set and decided to ink it up for this challenge.

I focused on:
-the circular clock with the black-pink-black words and silver frame
-butterfly theme and colours
-soft grey repetition in the background

I like this technique of creating a 'bumped-out' focal point. I start with a 4.25x5.5 panel and then cut the circle out and remove it. I then lay the square die on the remainder of the panel and cut that. Because I popped the circle up and framed it in silver, I didn't have to cut it out of the square, I could have just adhered it on top; but this allows you to inlay it back in if you want.

  7. Love how you've got the little branches going onto the circle, Ardyth and the soft grey stamping is so lovely with the dark grey card base!!!! Your pink butterfly is very pretty and who doesn't like some glitter cs to add a little sparkle!!!!!????
