This week's CASology Cue Card is Fast!
We hit a milestone this week. My son got his driver's license. Boy that was fast - feels like last week he was 2, identifying every Honda Civic he saw (that's what we drove at the time), as "our car".
Needless to say, our insurance has increased substantially. And my hair is getting greyer by the minute. But you can't hold them back, as much as you want to keep them safe at home.
I made this card for him and positioned the Inkadinkado car almost off the card front to demonstrate movement and speed. I grounded the car and with a Stampin' Up sentiment and added a stylish exhaust stream from Papertrey's Fancy Flourishes. I love how the flourish has a similar classic/vintage feel as the car. (if you're noticing a same-but-different feel as this card I made for him when he was accepted to his summer flying course, it's because this kid is constantly moving forward!)
Now it's your turn! The DT has some more inspiration for you - be sure to check it out!

What a cool card! Your son will love it. BTW, I remember when my sons learned to drive...At least you have cell phones now to keep track of them - LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI'm dreading that day...with 3 sons!!! ;) Sending them off to school is one thing, but the thought of them behind the steering wheel is another thing entirely! Only 2 more years before DS1 gets his learning permit!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your off the edge, one layer design!
Ditto on many of the comments made by Melissa! LOL! I don't think my hair could get much greyer! NOnetheless, it's onward and forward, and this card demonstrates this so well!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son ! Your card is just perfect for both, challenge and your son! Let the wording begin! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son Ardyth!! CUTE card, love the flourish of smoke from the tail pipe!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. #2 is getting is permit in a couple of weeks. Time goes so fast. This card is absolute perfection.
ReplyDeleteYour take on the cue is CAS perfect and I understand your stress. All I can say is that it gets easier over time.
ReplyDeleteCool and stylish, Ardyth ... so perfectly CAS! Congratulations to Struan! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteLove it, this is a stunning card Ardyth - and I know the feeling about kids getting their licences - it's nerve racking :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings

Great card, love that car!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time, it does go by fast!
Wow, you make some awesome masculine cards! It must be the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son! You should have all sorts of free time now. Love how you grounded your car with the sentiment, and also how the car is practically already out of the picture and off to hit the road.
ReplyDeleteThat car image is so cool! Love it! So glad I don't have to worry about Tex or Ella getting a driver's license! :D
ReplyDeleteLove the car image and your flourish exhaust, Ardyth! We added 2 teen drivers in the last couple of years and it was a big ouch on the budget, but the freedom from carpools is worth it!
ReplyDeleteHey Ardyth!! I love how your card is going off the side of the card. Nicely done.
