CASology 95 - by Kate
A quick post to link up a card that my 11 year old daughter Kate made last night for the current CASology Cue Card - splash.
We watched Jennifer McGuire's video about using glitter on die cuts and decided to try it out. (We love Jennifer!) We worked on this together but Kate chose the dies, the glitter colours (all Glitter Ritz) and the layout, as well as helping with the messier bits, to ensure that we (and the whole studio) were twinkling for the rest of the evening!
We did ours a little differently from Jennifer's, since there was a solid die and then one die with the 5 pieces for the umbrella (the handle is separate). We also cut right through, so we didn't have to fussy-cut.
We cut the five pieces out of card with double sided tape on top, peeled back the release paper and covered each one in glitter, burnishing to ensure that the glitter stayed in place.
Then we laid them on the solid umbrella piece which also had double sided tape on it, before adding the black glitter, burnishing it and using a swiffer cloth, a la Jennifer, to clean it all up. (and that is a really good tip - it helps pick up a lot of the stray glitter!)
ETA - thanks Kimberley - Kate would also like to link up to Inkspirational Challenges, where the inspiration photo is this:
