The Card Concept Challenge 7 - Butterfly

This time, The Card Concept Challenge is to use a butterfly theme.

I love the retro feel of the font of this Ink Essentials sentiment. There's just something cheerful about it. (am I the only one who gets feelings from fonts? I'm fascinated with type and its ability to reinforce the message of the words it represents, but that's a whole other story).

I paired my perky sentiment with a DeNami butterfly that had a similar feel - swoopy and happy. I coloured it with copics and then filled it in with stickles for sparkle.

When you have so much white space, I find that high contrast and bling or sparkle in your small focal points really helps to add interest.

I hope you'll get butterflies and play along!

Don't forget the rules!

  7. This is beautiful, and I like your tip about bright colors and small images. I agree with you about fonts--I wish I knew more about it, but I definitely feel some fonts work better in certain situations.
