RIC45 - Teenage Birthday!

My niece will be turning 13 next month and I wanted to make a special card for her. You only become a teenager once. At least (based on what's happening in my house these days!) I hope so!

I came across my ribbon box and an idea was born. I decided to make a curtain of ribbons, to partially conceal the  birthday message.  It might interest you to know that I probably used more ribbon on this card than I've used in all of the cards I've ever made. Combined. LOL!

I still had the current Runway Inspired Challenge on my mind, too, so I'll link this up there. It's a little more over the top than my last entry

But I think it's fun and very celebratory and perfect for a new teenager! Here's a view with the ribbon "curtains" held aside so that the message can be clearly seen:

What a brilliant idea! Only you could come up with that! And what a good way to use up a lot of ribbon...
It's also a very clever take on the ric challenge!

...giggled when I read about your ribbon! Right there with you - scads of colors...sitting in a box in the closet!

Your niece is going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. It is soooo "cool" (likely not the in phrase to use. Looks great with the ribbon pieces cascading over the edge!

Now this is what I call creative! A ribbon curtain. So cool!! Although I have enough ribbon to go around the Earth, twice, I don't think I've ever actually used this much either. Good for you! Nice tie in with the RIC.

This is such fun, and perfect for a teenager. It reminds me of those hanging beads that people sometimes used as doors way way back when. Everything old is new again.
