FFC15 - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Here's a quick and simple card for the current Festive Friday challenge:

This is not an original idea - there are lots of cards out there that looks like Santa's coat. I've probably done one myself! But doesn't that red look just like velvet? That's because it is! I found a scrap of red velvet paper that I've had for years and thought that Santa's suit would be the perfect way to use it. No black leather or brass for the belt, though! lol!

Don't forget that the deadline for this challenge is coming up on Wednesday. Hope to see you there!

This is sooooooo COOL! If you don't mind, I may have to use this design for some Christmas cards this year. I love how it's flat but has all that yummy velvet texture and the shiny belt buckle. Great for mailing!

Aw...how AWESOME is this, Ardyth! It's so perfect in every way! I think once you have the pieces all cut out, it's such an awesome design to be mass-produced?! Just a thought :) Love this to pieces!

Before I scrolled down to see how you made it, I wondered if it was velvet or if you had used some special technique. Love that it's velvet! What a fantastic card! Instantly recognizable and totally fun. Love this. Bev

You had me fooled! At first glance, I was sure it was velvet....then thought about who I was visiting and figured it had to be sponged! Wrong!

Is there a better way to showcase this fabulous piece of paper? Nope. Santa's coat is the only way! Love the buckle too :)

What a fun way to use that piece of velvet paper! The belt and buckle look just fine. In fact that buckle is so shiny! Perfect!

I did look like velvet ... but then I was thinking, wait, is she trying to trick us and this is some sponging technique? Perfect use for your scrap of velvet!
