This week's
One Layer Wednesday challenge is being hosted by Susan. It's an inspiration challenge called "
Snowy Day" based on December 30's posting on a site called
Cake Wrecks. What a fun site - lots of inspiration there!
I chose this photo for inspiration -
I took the colourful row of stockings and the silver all-caps lettering to make this Christmas thank you card (still on our to-do list to write these!).

Hey fellow Torontoniian! Great card. Happy Creating.
Okay, so this is just beyond beautiful...! So very CAS, and cheerful, and way cool. I love those bright snowflakes. Another superb creation! : ) Bev
This is so very sweet!
Love the snowflakes in bright colors!
Ahhh....this is so beautiful!
Ardyth, I LOVE how you used the cake for inspiration!!!! What a wonderful clean and simple card, so fresh and fun!
LURVE!!!!
I just adore your snowflakes adn silver embossing!!! The colors you used are amazing--such perfect inspiration!!! I hope that you have time to come and join in the fun at Inkspirational and Technique Tuesday sometime--it would be fabulous to have you play along! :)
Simply fabulous! Both colourful and elegant!
Beautiful card Ardyth!
Love the sweet rainbow snowflakes Ardyth and awesome silver embossed sentiment.
So when I read about the challenge based on a Cake Wrecks post I thought, "how in the heck is that going to turn out" because all I've ever seen on that site is Tom Seleck cakes with chest hair, bloody bandaid cupcakes, roadkill cakes with entrails coming out (seriously!), etc. I had no idea they actually posted "nice" cakes. I think it's so funny that you chose the cake with a lot of white space on it!! Love that your exclamation point is purple instead of silver (right, that's not a shadow?)
Perfection...love the touch of color against all the beautiful white.
Simple-y beautiful!
Only you would think to make the snowflakes these pretty pastel colors - beautiful! I can't believe how well you captured the elements of the inspiration photo! Love it :)
So sweet and perfect. I just love those colorful snowflakes.
I love your arrangement of snowflakes and letters all in the centre; it is so beautifully balanced and the colours so pretty.
ps. I felt slightly Ardythian when I made my OLW entry this week ;-)
Hey Ardyth, thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. It is so difficult. I miss her so much. Thanks again. Hugs, Bev
