LIM80 - Fur or Feathers

Are horses furry? The more I think about it, I have to wonder if a horse qualifies for this week's Less Is More one layer challenge - to use fur or feathers. I guess they're kind of furry - and their noses are so soft! But I was reminded this week that I have not made many horse cards and my sister, the equine surgeon, needs some (she sends them to clients and friends).

This is a wonderful sentiment from Starving Artistamps, and the horse is from an old Stampin' Up! set called "Wanted". Stamped with my Spectrum Kaleidecolor ink pad (again!), I think it shows the magic in this horse!

  1. Fur or no fur - -your card is fantastic, no matter what the conclusion may be! Great work!

  3. Sweet card Ardyth, horses do have hair (same thing) that is very very short. Have a great day.

  4. I had the same fur dilemma, and solved it by going for feathers. I like the grungy print font of the wording, and the size of the horse image balances well with the sentiment.

  5. Hmmm....I work with two vets so will run the fur thing past them! Until then, fur works for me! I never get tired of seeing what you create using Kaleidecolor ink!

  9. Horses are definitely hairy - but hey, the inspiration resulted in another great card regardless!

  10. I really love your card. I am also a big fan of kaleidacolour inks. I have only just found your blog, so have had a lovely time looking at your cards. As for horse stamps, do you know Coronado Island stamps? They do some really lovely horse stamps. I have one called 3 Graces which I always use for horsey friends and it is so beautiful, I never get sick of it.
